   BIRTV is China’s most prestigious exhibition in the industry of radio, film and TV and a key part of China     International Radio Film & Television Exposition. SBE Charters Hong Kong Chapter

Apr 21, 2009 - A group of broadcast and cable engineers in Hong Kong have formed the newest chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers. The board of directors of the Society approved the group’s charter application during its meeting Sunday morning.

Hong Kong SBE Chapter 144 is the 113th active chapter of the Society. 23 broadcast engineers and technicians have already become members. The chairman of the new chapter is Lam Kwok Luen, vice president of broadcast and engineering operations for I-Cable.  Vice chairman of the chapter is Thai Ka Ho. Serving as secretary/treasurer is Wong Wai Ming Eric. The chapter meets on the first Tuesday of each month.

Upon the affirmative vote by the Board to approve the chapter’s charter, SBE President, Barry Thomas, CPBE CBNT said, “We welcome our friends and professional colleagues in Hong Kong to the SBE and look forward to their participation.”

The SBE has more than 5,700 members in 113 chapters across the United States and in Hong Kong. There are also members in more than 20 other countries.
